Telephone calls have been made purporting to be from Amritpal Singh of Duncan Lewis Solicitors LTD regarding a licensing matter.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed that an individual purporting to be from a genuine firm of solicitors (see below) has been in contact with a member of the public in relation to a licensing matter.

The telephone calls were made from the telephone number 07767190687.

We have been made aware that these telephone calls request payment to a private Monzo account.

Any business or transaction through the above contact number is not undertaken by an individual regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Amritpal Singh (SRA ID 586498) an immigration solicitor for Duncan Lewis Solicitors LTD (SRA ID 309586).

The genuine contact number for the firm is 07825171387.

Duncan Lewis Solicitors LTD has confirmed that neither they nor Amritpal Singh have any connection to the matter referred to in the above alert.

What should I do?
