Warning: Correspondence from 'Yasser Alazmi' misusing the name and SRA number of Rashid Law Ltd and the name Ammar Hussain

Correspondence and documents have been sent misusing the name and SRA number of Rashid Law Ltd and the name Ammar Hussain.

What is the scam?

The SRA has seen a so called 'Legal Power of Attorney - Asset Recovery, Trading & Digital Assets' bearing the name and purported signature of 'Ammar Hussain (Alshehri)' and misusing the name, address and SRA Number of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below). It has also been informed of correspondence from 'Yasser Alazmi' claiming to be a 'Finance, Criminal Defence Lawyer and Specialist Internet Law Attorney' at that genuine firm.

The correspondence was sent in relation to recovering funds previously lost in a scam. 'Yasser Alazmi' claimed they could provide legal advice.

The telephone number used was: +966 11 513 6765

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a solicitor called 'Ammar Hussain Alshehri' 'Ammar Alshehri' or 'Yasser Alazmi'.

Any business or transaction conducted by 'Ammar Hussain Alshehri', 'Ammar Alshehri', 'Yasser Alazmi', or through the telephone number listed above is not undertaken by a genuine solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm called Rashid Law Ltd (SRA number 811978).

The genuine firm has confirmed they have no connection to 'Ammar Hussain', 'Ammar Hussain Alshehri', 'Ammar Alshehri', 'Yasser Alazmi' or the telephone number listed above.

The firm's genuine telephone number is 01218241084.

The SRA authorises and regulates 2 genuine solicitors called Ammar Hussain (SRA number's 609335 and 811212).

The genuine solicitors have confirmed they have no connection to the details listed above in the alert.

What should I do?

If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
